You may have seen some of these photos and videos when you followed a link like or while wandering around the site. This section groups them all together and adds some more.

Earlier photo's are either scanned versions of prints or were taken using an early, low resolution, digital camera. Since May 2002 the photo's have been taken with a Pentax Optio 330 digital camera and from Nov 2004 the Pentax and a Canon EOS 300D SLR. The Photo's were generally taken at 2048x1536 (Pentax) and 3072x2048 (Canon) but are saved on this site at a lower resolution to reduce load times and space usage. This size is usually adequate for viewing but the full size/quality files are available if you should need them.

If you are considering buying a digital camera I have found the following sites useful for comparing different models. Please note these are US sites so model names and numbers do sometimes vary. Also note prices do vary a lot between high street shops and Internet suppliers.

Older video clips were sized assuming they would be accessed using a 56Kbps modem so clips were kept small and short. More recent video clips give a variety of sizes to suit the bandwidth of your internet connection.
